The Mother Akandiga Foundation (MAF) was established in 2021 by Mr. Roland Agambire
and named after his late mother, Augustina Akandiga Akwara Agambire, a Princess from
Sirigu in the Upper East Region of Ghana who lived between 1957 – 2021.
A mother to many, Mother Akandiga was very passionate about the plight of children and
youth, especially the deprived ones without parents and those born out of teenage
pregnancy. Her dream was to ensure the economic well-being, education and health of
such persons.
The Foundation is intended to immortalize her memory, promote the ideals she stood for,
and project her legacy.
To set up a sustainable support system for orphans, teenage parents and their families
To promote literacy and economic empowerment among deprived youth.
To immortalize the name, legacy and wishes of Mother Augustina Akandiga Akwara Agambire.
To provide sustainable livelihood through the provision of health, education and economic safety nets for orphans, teenage parents and their wards to safeguard their future.
The over-arching vision of the Foundation is to establish and galvanize a global system for orphans, teenage pregnant mothers and their wards, to live humanely.
